Jared/Jon 6 - Jon's thought on the Existance of Jesus Jon Shares a Thought Back in the days of Jesus, weather you belived in him or not, you knew he existed because people could see him and hear about him, as a real person. One problim now days is that people Deny his Existance, But thanks to that Son of god Show we now have Proof that he Existed. So I belive that we ARE supposed to know that he was real (Everyone should know) and then the choice to belive him is ours, where as lots of "Non belivers" simply belive that he didn't exist. Whats people think about this, and I hope you see what I accually mean cause I'm not sure if It came out properly there. Cheers Jon Jared's Reply Did you get that thing from Emily about the little girl and her teacher. People think they can discount Jesus and God just because they can't see him and there is no proof to the atheist's eye that there is a God from nature. Yet ask them to show you the proof of evolution and they go and show you all these bones which supposedly came from the descendant of this other set of bones just because they look similar. Any true scientist will tell you that evolutionists have no proof of evolution because scientific proof must be observable and I doubt any evolutionist has lived a millenia let alone the time required for evolution to occur. Also many scientist now have discarded the theory of evolution as it is to unlikely to occur. Therefore the people who believe it are even more religious than the Christian since the Christian has a heritage of believers stretching back to the beginning of time (almost) and a book written by there God explaining it all. But the evolutionist no longer has his "preacher" (the scientist) or at least all the smart ones have left and have a brief history of belief in their conception life-span of the earth. Ah well, c'est la vie. God bless, Jared May-trix Jon's Reply I was saying that Back in Jesus' day you KNEW that he was true, and lots of people claim now days that he isn't. SO I belive that we are supposed to know that Jesus was real, and then its up to us to decided if what he said was true or not (Son of God...) We now have proof that he was real, and that some of the things written like the Star on his birth was true. Understand?? And again, Jared's Reply to that Unless you believe that Jesus is the Son of God then you should steer well clear of his obeying his teachings as a good, moral, philosopher because then you are listening to the teachings of a raving lunatic who claims to be the Son of God and if you don't believe in God thewn already he must be slightly wacko. Even then his claim that he was the Son of God unless he is telling the truth is as insane (as one person put it) as me claiming I am a banana. Also his claim to be able to forgive sins is lunacy at best unless it also is true. So unless you believe he lived he was either a lunatic or all he claimed. I know I am rehashing what you already know but I like to hear the sound of my own voice. God bless, Jared May-trix Jon's Simply and Cheesy Comment I love these cool "Debates" Thanks alot Jon Jared's Reply As do I mate. You remember our conversation from last night about how most girls will try to stop a group of guys discussing a topic well I just got an example from last night. You remember just after the movie finished and me and Robin were discussing the effects of Nitroglycerin and Jacinda nearby said "Oh no they haven't gone intellectual have they?" (or something along those lines) that is exactly what I later was saying about girls. On a completely different topic. You know how Christianity is the largest religion in the world with the most adherents note that it has only been around for 2000 years which is nothing considering how long civilization has been around. Christianity must have something to it if a religion so young has grown so fast. Also, no other religion in the world can claim to have changed so many peoples religion other religions convert maybe two every year Christianity does about twenty. See unless there was something to it then people would stick tot their parents religion more often than not. God bless, Jared May-trix Jon's Reply Um, I wouldn't say it was 20 per year. I think its ALOT moe than that. And as Christians we understand why, Holy Spirit. Arn't we the only Religion thats supposed to have a Immediate/personal relationship with "God" or "The Gods". That is very true about the Girls not sticking to one subject. Even last night, I kept interupting myslef with other points, and once they were out of the way, managed to get right back on task (IE Moses going to the 40 days and then back again) Also, Christianity Did start off with the Jews, so there were quite alot of people that could at least consider it, but at the same time that made it worse because they already had a religion, and didn't want to change... Jared's Reply The twenty per year was a random number plucked out nof the year and was a pessimistic guess but even that pessimistic guess was larger than what other religions get. Also, read 1 Kings 18:19-38, the other religions may have demons behind them giving them power but their power is nothing compared to that of the Lord our God they can't act in the world without a channel while our God can do everything without people and is hampered when he uses them as a channel. God bless, Jared ps I have decided I agree and disagree with your statement that there is no present. You know a graph of 1/x it will get smaller and smaller and never reach zero, this is the same as time you can shrink it down and down and it will never reach the "Now" the precise instant of time that each thing occurs for in time something is always changing no matter how small a fraction of a second it is. The "Now" is where God dwells (sorta) it is the place that time tries to rach but never can it is time yet is not affected by it. If you don't understand what I'm saying please ask and I'll attempt better. Jon's Final Reply Yeah Thats the way I see everyhting like Distance, It dosn't really exist how we describe it.... |
